About This Journey
A self-guided cycling holiday in Poreč and Rovinj, from late February onwards.
Start your cycling season beside the Adriatic. Explore coastal towns, olive groves and rolling countryside, with three nights in Poreč and two in Rovinj. Four circular rides and one connecting stage give you variety without changing hotels every day.

Ride at your own pace while we arrange accommodation, navigation information and a luggage transfer between the two towns. The first ride is optional and depends on your arrival time; day six is departure after breakfast.
Accommodation and price
Our intended hotels are Sunny Poreč by Valamar or similar, and Hotel Squero, Hotel Eden or similar in Rovinj. Breakfast is included. Final hotels, opening dates and availability are confirmed in your personalised offer.
The early-season price starts at €895 per person without bike rental, based on two people sharing a double or twin room. Selected departures are available from the second half of February through spring, subject to hotel availability and weather. Holiday periods, room upgrades and later spring dates may carry a supplement.
Riding in early spring
In suitable weather, Istria offers enjoyable cycling from the second half of February. Expect cool mornings and changeable conditions, including rain and occasional strong winds. Bring layers, gloves and a windproof or waterproof jacket.
The terrain is rolling rather than flat, mainly on paved roads, with some shared coastal sections and public roads with traffic. The Poreč–Rovinj stage is more demanding than the loops. A touring, hybrid or gravel bike is suitable; an e-bike can help with the climbs. Distances are approximate planning ranges and depend on the final routes and hotel locations.
Not included in the base price
Bike and helmet rental; travel to Poreč and onward travel from Rovinj; return transport to Poreč; lunches, drinks and dinners unless included in your confirmed hotel package; local tourist taxes where applicable; insurance, entrance fees and personal expenses. Optional services are quoted separately.

Itinerary
Arrival in Poreč and optional introductory loop
Settle into your hotel for the first of three nights in Poreč. If you arrive early, enjoy a relaxed loop towards the Červar area and Nova Vas, or explore the old town and waterfront on foot.
Višnjan, vineyards and inland villages
Ride from Poreč through Nova Vas towards Višnjan, Kaštelir and Tar. Rolling countryside, olive groves and village cafés provide plenty of reasons to pause before returning to your Poreč hotel.
Funtana, Vrsar and the coastal countryside
Head south towards Funtana and Vrsar, with time for a harbour stop and a walk through the old town. Return inland through Flengi and Fuškulin for your final night in Poreč.
Poreč to Rovinj around Lim Bay
Change bases while we transfer your luggage to Rovinj. The proposed route heads inland around Lim Bay, through villages and wooded landscapes towards Rovinjsko Selo and the coast. This is the longest and most demanding stage, with climbs and descents. Overnight in Rovinj.
Bale and the Rovinj countryside
A circular ride through the Rovinj countryside towards Rovinjsko Selo, Putini and Bale. Explore stone lanes and stop for lunch before returning to Rovinj for a final waterfront evening.
Breakfast and departure
Enjoy breakfast before your holiday ends in Rovinj. Extra nights and onward travel can be arranged at an additional cost. Return travel to Poreč is not included.
Good to know before the tour
Is this a guided tour?
No. You ride independently using our navigation files and daily information. We arrange the accommodation and luggage transfer, with telephone assistance during the trip. A guide or support vehicle does not accompany the rides.
Is bike rental included in €895?
No. The price starts at €895 per person without bike rental, based on two people sharing a double or twin room. Bring your own suitable bike or request a separate rental quotation, subject to availability.
Is the holiday five or six days long?
Six calendar days and five nights: three nights in Poreč and two in Rovinj. There are up to five cycling days, including an optional arrival-day loop. Day six is departure after breakfast.
What happens to my luggage and how do I return to Poreč?
Your luggage stays at the hotel on loop days. One luggage transfer from Poreč to Rovinj is included on day four. Return passenger transport to Poreč is not included and can be quoted separately.
What if the weather is unsuitable or I want shorter rides?
Early-season weather is changeable. We can advise on adjusting the plan or discussing shorter loops before booking. The connecting stage needs separate planning if you prefer a shorter ride. Additional transport and services are quoted separately.
