Cycling in Slovenia

Why choose Slovenia for a cycling holiday?

Slovenia is a cyclist’s dream: compact, scenic, and full of variety. Within a few days, you can explore alpine valleys, wine hills, and the Adriatic coast. The country has quiet roads, well-maintained paths, and a strong culture of outdoor sports—ideal for anyone who enjoys active travel.

What types of cycling terrain are there?

Slovenia offers something for every cyclist—from flat coastal trails and rolling vineyards to steep alpine climbs. You’ll find options whether you prefer leisurely rides or challenging routes like the Vršič Pass.

Is cycling in Slovenia safe?

Yes. Slovenia consistently ranks among the safest countries in Europe. Roads are well-kept, traffic is light outside cities, and drivers are used to sharing the road with cyclists.

When is the best time to cycle in Slovenia?

The ideal cycling season runs from May to October. Spring and early fall are particularly nice with mild weather and fewer crowds.

Guided Cycling Tours

What’s included in a guided cycling tour?

A local guide will lead your rides, share insider knowledge, and adapt to your pace and preferences. We take care of accommodation, bike rental, transfers, and support—so you can focus on the experience.

Do you offer group or private tours?

Our tours are mostly private and custom-made, offering full flexibility. You decide the pace, difficulty, and daily schedule.

Can I bring my own bike?

You’re welcome to bring your own bike, but we also provide premium gravel and e-bikes suited for Slovenia’s varied terrain.

How fit do I need to be?

We adapt each tour to your fitness and cycling background. Whether you ride every weekend or are just getting started, we’ll design routes that work for you.

What should I pack?

Bring comfortable cycling gear, padded shorts, a windbreaker or light rain jacket, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, and some casual wear for evenings.

Self-Guided Cycling Tours

How does a self-guided cycling tour work?

We plan the route, provide GPS tracks, arrange accommodation and luggage transfer. You ride at your own pace with full support in the background if needed.

Can the itinerary be customized?

Yes! Self-guided trips are highly flexible. You choose the duration, daily distances, and focus—whether it’s food, nature, or mileage.

How do I navigate the routes?

You’ll receive clear GPS tracks compatible with Strava, Komoot, and Garmin, plus printed maps and digital tips for each stop.

Do I carry my luggage?

No. Your luggage will be transferred to your next accommodation while you enjoy the ride.

What if something goes wrong?

You’ll have 24/7 local support. In case of breakdowns, route issues, or any unexpected problems, we’re just a call or message away.

Custom & Combined Tours

Can I combine cycling with hiking or sightseeing?

Absolutely. Many of our guests like to mix in hiking, wine tastings, or guided city visits. We’ll design the trip around your interests.

Do you offer fully personalized tours?

Yes. We specialize in building custom itineraries based on your group size, fitness level, and travel goals.

Are your tours family- or group-friendly?

Yes, we can plan tours for families, friends, and mixed-ability groups. E-bikes are a great equalizer if needed.

Are accommodations included?

All tours include handpicked accommodations with breakfast. Options range from cozy guesthouses to boutique hotels. We can include dinner reservations or wine tastings too.

Hiking in Slovenia

Do you offer hiking tours?

Yes. We offer both guided and self-guided hiking tours in Triglav National Park, Soča Valley, Lake Bohinj, and more. Day hikes and multi-day hut-to-hut routes are available.

What’s the hiking difficulty like?

We offer everything from relaxed walks to challenging alpine hikes. We’ll suggest the best fit for your interests and fitness level.

What should I bring for hiking?

We recommend sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, waterproof gear, a small backpack, refillable water bottle, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Is luggage transfer available?

For most day hikes and supported multi-day trips, yes. On alpine hut hikes, you’ll carry essentials in your backpack and we’ll store your remaining gear.

Can I hike without a guide?

Yes. Many trails are well-marked and safe to hike independently. A guide adds local insight, navigation ease, and peace of mind, especially in the mountains.
