When Martin and Anne from Germany first joined us for a self-guided cycling holiday in Slovenia in 2023, they were instantly captivated. From the alpine beauty of Lake Bled to the peaceful mountain roads around Gorenjska, their experience left a lasting impression. As Martin wrote on his travel blog Radlausick, “There is a special rhythm to cycling in Slovenia: the mountains rise steadily, the roads are calm, and the scenery rewards every turn of the pedal.”
So when spring 2024 rolled around, we were thrilled—but not surprised—to welcome them back for another ride through the Julian Alps. Their return trip followed similar landscapes: peaceful routes through forests and pastures, lakeside loops, and the dramatic climbs that make this part of Slovenia so memorable for road cyclists. They appreciated the flexibility of our setup of self-guided cyclingin Slovenia, which gave them the freedom to ride at their own pace and explore off the beaten path.
Martin and Anne shared this glowing Google review after their second trip:
“This was our second tour with Slovenia Bike Tours and again it was just perfect! Nejc planned beautiful and quiet routes, with great overnight stays and top service. Slovenia is such a dream to explore by bike—we’ll be back again for sure!”
It’s always a pleasure to work with guests like Martin and Anne, who return not just for the rides but for the connection to the land. Their story is a reminder that the Julian Alps cycling experience is not just a one-time journey—but one that calls you back.
